Installing PreserveLayer™

For a simpler, more precise installation

We recommend using the application solution on the largest surfaces of the watch, particularly the crystal, bezel and clasp. It lets you easily reposition the PreserveLayer™ piece to achieve precise alignment before it bonds permanently.

For smaller pieces and the strap/bracelet elements, we instead recommend a dry application, without liquid. This method is faster, allows for immediate adhesion, and reduces the risk of residue marks under the PreserveLayer™.

In short: liquid for large surfaces requiring precise alignment; dry application for small pieces and the bracelet.

1. Carefully prepare your watch

Before installing, thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, fingerprints and residue.

The watch must be completely clean and dry before applying the PreserveLayer™ elements.

2. Large surfaces: use the application solution

For the largest areas, such as the crystal, bezel and large parts of the clasp, use the application solution provided.

It lets you easily reposition the PreserveLayer™ element to achieve precise alignment before it bonds permanently.

3. Small pieces and bracelet: dry application

For small surfaces, curved areas and bracelet elements, we instead recommend a dry installation, without liquid.

Dry application allows for more immediate adhesion and reduces the risk of lifting on curved areas or narrow edges.

4. Use the squeegee

On pieces installed with the application solution, use the squeegee provided to progressively push the liquid out towards the edges.

Pay particular attention to edges and curved areas so the PreserveLayer™ element adheres perfectly to the surface.

5. Let the watch rest for 24 hours

Once installation is complete, do not wear the watch for at least 24 hours.

This resting period allows the PreserveLayer™ elements to reach optimal adhesion, particularly on edges and curved areas.

Important

Premature lifting can notably be caused by:

  • a surface that was not sufficiently cleaned or dried;
  • liquid remaining under the edges;
  • using liquid on small surfaces or very curved areas;
  • edges that were not pressed down firmly enough during installation;
  • wearing the watch too soon after application.

For optimal hold, take a few extra moments to check that all edges are perfectly bonded before finishing the installation.
